Customer information

This information is created at the time your software is installed and cannot be changed.  Technical support may request this information to validate your account.

Transmission/Reception settings

Automatic Transmission and Reception switch: If this box is checked, ScriptWave will communicate automatically every hour.  If it is off, ScriptWave will communicate only when you select .

If you receive dictation files on tape and wish to have ScriptWave automatically import the file once it is in a digital format, put the name of the dictation folder here.  When ScriptWave sees new files in this folder, it will show the Dictation Import Screen.

To delete dictation files after they are imported into ScriptWave, select Delete.  Otherwise, files will be Renamed so they are not imported multiple times.

ScriptWave will send a copy of all received transcription files to a second directory (the primary copy is kept in \ScriptWave\MasterDoc).  Physicians use this feature to place documents into a folder needed by medical systems.

Automated purge settings

Rather than clean up your hard disk by yourself, ScriptWave can do this cleanup automatically.  The purge mechanism looks at files (dictation and transcription) that are marked as completed.

The MasterDoc folder contains the transmitted version of all files and is the file presented whenever you view transcription or listen to dictation.  Select the number of weeks to keep completed files before purging.

If imported dictation files were “renamed” and not deleted, this purge function will clean up the files the selected number of weeks after import.

After the selected number of weeks, remove the second copy of transcribed files from the receive folder.

Default audio reader settings

Transcriptionists often have a specific audio file player that controls the playback of dictation through foot pedals or smart keyboards.  ScriptWave will open dictation files automatically when you click the  button with the player program listed in this preferences box.
